$500,000 SYLVESTER STALLONE-DESIGNED MONTEGRAPPA PEN,
LARGEST TOURBILLON WATCH IN THE WORLD, DIAMOND-ENCRUSTED CIGAR CUTTER MEN’S BRACELET; CHRONUS GALLERY OPENS JAW-DROPPING JEWELRY BOUTIQUE INSIDE
ST. REGIS BAL HARBOUR RESORT
(Bal Harbour, Florida) – March 2019 – Beyond chandeliers and floral-speckled marble floors, through a latticed chrome gate is an extraordinary glass-enclosed jewel box, Chronus Gallery. Officially opening March 28 overlooking the St. Regis Bal Harbour’s lush gardens, it is a place where owners David Veitsman and Fred Sirota beckon people to linger, enjoy an aged MacAllan scotch, and be surrounded by some of the rarest collections of jewelry and timepieces, and a Montegrappa Mono-boutique.
Statement and everyday pieces from international jewelry designers Messika, Stephen Webster, Pasquale Bruni, Yoko London, Marina B., Faberge, Takat and Nigora Tabayer manufactured by Graff are unparalleled, says Veitsman.
“To have such a collection under one roof is non-existent in the United States because these designers consider Chronus to be their second flagship and send us unique pieces that can only be acquired here,” he says.
Every piece of jewelry is 18K gold and platinum; Veitsman receives new additions daily, including rare Angel Skin and red Sardinian coral beads and uncommon 22mm South Sea Pearl strands. Marina B. (“B” as in Bulgari), the favorite of Elizabeth Taylor and Sophia Loren, uses rare Russian quartz for her iconic styles and believes “vaults at home shouldn’t be wearing the jewelry; women should be wearing it.” Her serpentine-style collars are designed to be layered; her clever Pneu collection earrings switch-out a drop-down pave sapphire ball for unique turquoise, black onyx or Russian quartz for travel-friendly transformative looks.
UK designer Stephen Webster debuts his men’s line at Chronus with signature black opal cuff links, onyx rings, and ingenious conversation starters, including a diamond-encrusted rose gold cigar cutter bracelet and a (functional) straight razor pendant necklace.
A timepiece collection including the rare Kerbedanz Maximus, the world’s largest tourbillon housed in a wristwatch, as well as estate Horology Patek Philippe, Audemars Piguet, Rolex, Breguet and Jaeger Le Colture take center stage. Fans of Swiss racing team owner Alexandre Pesce’s Rebellion watch brand will find his latest collections here, ranging in price from $4,000 to $2 million. Its Brazillian Formula One pilot, Gustavo Menezes is flying in for Chronus’ March 28 opening soiree…in full racing gear.
Chronus has one of the largest collections of Montegrappa writing instruments in the United States.
The most luxurious handmade pen in the world is designed and made in Bassano, Italy since 1912 and a favorite of authors, royalty, heads of state, and pop-culture fans (Elvis Presley and Game of Thrones are favorites). More than 800 hand-crafted roller ball and fountain pens range in price from $250 to $500,000 for the Sylvester Stallone-designed Chaos collection. The weighty piece of art features engraved 18K gold carvings sprinkled with diamonds, complete with a solid crystal quartz rock and gold inlaid inkwell.
The most expensive piece? A glamorous 50+ carat natural fancy vivid yellow asscher-cut diamond ring for a cool $10 million. It’s no wonder “Chronus is like a museum in which you want to relax and spend time,” says Veitsman, “Sit back, have a glass of champagne or smoke a cigar under swaying palms, and simply say: ‘I’ll take it.”
Chronus is the first Timepieces and jewelry gallery concept inside The St. Regis Bal Harbour, one of the country’s most exclusive oceanfront luxury resorts, which opened in 2011 at 9703 Collins Avenue, Bal Harbour Florida, 33154. www.chronusgallery.com 786-646-9977.
